Globalization has brought mankind into situations where we all live in a global village, where information and the speed of communication have almost totally erased the borders of time and space. This is surely a new experience for humankind, because it leaves the impression that the world is small and closed.

People now can easily access information abut any type of event which takes place in any part of the world just by clicking a button. They are now aware of economic, social, political and religious developments in the world. They see equity and justice in different parts of the world. They are aware of various types of movements, and revolutions taking place across the world. The student of today wonders why we are so backward, while the rest of the world is progressing so speedily in economic, social, and political fields. It is true that when the mental level grows such questions arise in the mind. We are supposed to answer these questions wisely and intelligently. We can evade these questions by bringing the modern mind at par with common people. It is indeed an attractive opportunity to make them aware of Islamic teachings for better training, and leading the new generation. It is the dire need of the time to understand modern languages, thoughts and communication tools.

Having realized the needs of the contemporary world, the Faculty of Islamic Learning, Greenwich University offers Masters program in Islamic Studies and Comparative Religion.
