  GENDER & WOMEN STUDIES

To all intents and purposes, the concept of equality of gender is nothing more than a legal myth in Pakistan. Despite tall claims to the contrary, women continue to be marginalized in predominantly rural Pakistani society.

There is an urgent need to make a scientific study of this appalling state of affairs.

The program aims to critically examine the various underlying factors which have hampered the Pakistani women from attaining their rightful place in  a free, Islamic society.

The aim of the program is to bring about a change in the social attitudes for accepting women as equal partners in development.

The program will also address the broader role of women in changing the socio-cultural and economic status of a community.
