The courses are intended for students who wish to acquire a broad-based knowledge and its applications in modern sociology. Courses focus on the contemporary social issues e.g. culture, post modernism, gender, ethnicity and race, ecology, environment, and globalization. Sociological theories are taught in the context of specific social problems. The curriculum prepares the students for careers of teaching and research in private and public sectors.

Sociology is an emerging and an exciting discipline, with a strong professional orientation. The basis of this re-emergence is the change in different sociological belief models and norms in transition. This program leads to a better understanding of the plethora of social issues.
